Hi, I'm wondering how we can change the setting for the default purpose shown in a viewport. Our trees systematically have a rig that come as guides. Everytime we open houdini the default purpose displayed are proxy and guides. We have to manually uncheck guides other wise it's super heavy. Is there a way to change the default setting so it only display the proxy? Thank you.

Solaris and Karma » Display flag output disappear when selecting other nodes

Hi, I've been having this issue where I'm working inside a "sop create" in a stage and this behavior happens. The display flag is set somewhere in my graph but every time I select another node the result of the display flag disappear from the viewport. I have to click on the background of the network view to bring it back. It's really annoying but I'm not sure it's a bug. I was wondering if it happened to other people or if someone know how to disable this behavior. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything before I log it.
Note:
-It happens after a while when I open a scene. But I have no idea how to reproduce it for now.
-It doesn't happen in a sop in "/obj".

Hi all, I'm trying to get the current insertion point for a given viewport. I've been looking in the doc but there is not much information about it. I didn't see anything in the method of hou.SceneViewer. Basically I just need the node.
If someone can help me I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi I've been playing with karma lately and I've notice some issue when using a normal map. The normal map is displayed correctly in the openGl but when I switch to karma I get weird artifact. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I've included the scene and files to reproduce it.

Technical Discussion » Labs Maps Baker Layering Issue

Hi, I've started playing with the new substance tools available with hou18 Side fx lab. It's really amazing. This got me thinking that it would be amazing if we could scatter decal textures on an object and bake it as a single texture. So I started playing around but the baker doesnt seems to consider individual image plane transparency when baking.
This is the kind of result I have in mind:
To simplify this I made a example with two grid. One using a shader with a constant blue color as diffuse. And an other smaller one containing a gradient.
This is the result in the viewport:
But when I bake this using the baker it gives me this:
As you can see where it should be transparent, it's black.
I've attached an example scene.
I tried a lot of different thing to make this work but maybe I'm missing something.
Thanks for your help.

I was able to make it work by specifying the image plane like that:
op:/img/img1/sbs_archive1{diffuse}
op:/img/img1/sbs_archive1{diffuse}
